The Caixa Electronica Stakes
Only one winner today - but it was the "BET of the WEEKEND" at Gulfstream, and probably the BEST BET of the WEEK! The winning machine, Ribo Bobo has scored for me twice previously as "prime time" bets. First on Claiming Crown Day when he scored in the Claiming Crown Express; then on Sunshine Millions Day when he romped in the Sunshine Millions Sprint. Today he was back in the inagural running of the Caixa Electronica Stakes. His Beyer figures in three of his last four had been so good that they all were better than LIFETIME best figures of the rest of the field. The one that gave a single runner in here a chance by the numbers came off his open length win in the Claiming Crown Express when he was geared down the length of the stretch. Today he did not disappoint......he was under a hammerlock hold after a :44 and change half mile and really was never asked to run more than a 16th of a mile. If you watch the replay it would appear that the runner-up is getting to him, but he truly had never been pushed to his best. In the other four plays I did not get any kind of luck or best out of my picks. Best to move on to next week and try to get past the disappointment of the weekend's bottom line.
